George Anthony Elliott
February 3rd, 1937 - September 18th, 2025
George Anthony “Tony” Elliott, 88, went home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2025. His beloved wife of 63 years, Joyce Haley Elliott, and his son Madison Elliott and daughter Anita Elliott Baxley were at his side. Tony was the son of James Morgan Elliott Sr and Nita Duke Elliott of Charleston. He was a charter member of James Island Baptist Church and Fort Johnson Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. He was known for his art, his cooking skills, and his love for his family. He is survived by his wife Joyce; son Madison Elliott of Anderson, SC and daughter in law, An Elliott; daughter Anita Elliott Baxley of Charleston; grandsons Thomas Baxley of Charleston and Niko Elliott of Anderson; granddaughter Emily Wendland of Alameda, CA and her husband, Isaac Wendland; and his brother, Morgan Elliott Jr. An informal drop-in for visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, September 28, at Fort Johnson Baptist Church from 3-4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fort Johnson Baptist Church Mission Fund or James Island Outreach.
