Michael Bernard Martin, Sr.

Michael Bernard Martin, Sr., 70, of Tampa, FL passed away from long-term health issues on Monday September 22, 2025 surrounded by his wife and children. Born long ago in May of 1955 in Port Jefferson, New York, Michael, known best as Mike, was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Mike was a hard-working family man and Navy veteran, driven by want to better the lives of his family. While he worked most of his life in construction related fields, he came alive when he started bartending on the side. His goofball nature, gift of gab, and calm demeanor made him a favorite of customers and co-workers alike. 

He was the director of the Free Chicken Sandwich Tour, a free meal plan benefitting his children when they came home to visit. While no new director has been announced at this time, the tradition of the tour will be carried on by his progeny.

An avid fan since the days of Creamsicle, Mike was blessed with a Bucs win to remember prior to his passing.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, “Delicious” Denise Martin. The sound of his acapella bugle call, Reveille, will never be forgotten by his five children, Bridgette Martin, Brianna (Marco) Dieguez, Michael (Tiffany) Martin, Jr., Stephanie Martin, and Brittney (Christopher) Hill. He will be cherished by his four grandchildren, Marco III, Annmarie, Devin, and Christopher. He will be missed by his sisters Margaret Martin and Kathleen (Ray) Lynch.

Per Michael's request, cremation has taken place.  He will be interred at Florida National Cemetery at a later date with full military honors.  Arrangements were entrusted to Florida Mortuary Funeral and Cremation Service.
