Gary A Baker
November 22nd, 1944 - September 10th, 2025
Gary A. Baker
It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Gary Anderson Baker passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025 after an unexpected and brief illness. Born in 1944 to Merton and Emma (Anderson) Baker in Mankato Minnesota, Gary grew up in Sycamore, Illinois before ultimately settling in southeast Wisconsin.
Not one to be contained, Gary’s careers spanned the spectrum between artist and accountant, with multiple passions and pursuits in between. Despite his versatility, he remained anchored to the simple virtues of honesty, authenticity and personal integrity. He formed abiding friendships with co-workers and clients which he held in highest esteem and was extremely grateful for. He spent his final years seeing the world with his wife, golfing with the guys and heroically defending his unflinching allegiance to the Chicago Bears in Packers country.
Gary was proceeded in death by his father Merton Baker; mother, Emma Baker; baby sister, Karen Sue Baker and son-in-law/wing man, David Fode. He is survived by his wife, Christina Baker; sons John (Mary) Baker and Mark (Michaela) Baker; daughter Cynara Fode; niece, Cassandra Callewaert and grandchildren John Baker Jr., Elizabeth “Betsy” Baker, Matthias Baker, Andreas Baker, Petra Baker, Israfel Fode and Melinda Fode.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on October 8th at the Ironwood Golf Course, W270 N6166 Moraine Drive in Sussex Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you share a good bottle of wine with someone you love.
Go Bears.
