Charlotte Mae (Shaffer) Hillman
Charlotte passed away in a Meridian care facility, with family by her side, on September 3, 2025. Charlotte was born January 8, 1952 at Travis Air Force Base California. She moved to Mountain Home, Idaho when her father was transferred to Mountain Air Force Base in 1953. She graduated from Mountain Home high school in 1970. After graduation, she went to beauty school in Boise. Wanting to expand her horizon she went to Washington DC to work as a fingerprint technician for the FBI. Upon returning to Mountain Home, she worked as a dispatcher at the Mountain Home Police Department. On February 14, 1976, Charlotte married Muril R. Hillman. They resided in Mountain Home until they moved to Kingman Arizona. In Kingman Charlotte worked at Mojave Community College, where she received her associates degree. Charlotte and Muril enjoyed a long happy marriage of over 30 years until Muril’s death in 2006. Charlotte returned to Idaho shortly after her husband passed away to be with family. Charlotte loved to paint and she was a wonderful artist and enjoyed painting landscape scenes in watercolor. She enjoyed being with her family, attending church, crocheting, and pottery. Charlotte is survived by her children Leonard (Danielle)Hillman of Meridian, Illa Hillman, and Roberta Hillman. Her sister Claudia Coleman (Alan) of Meridian, Eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild, two nieces, three nephews, five great nieces and two great nephews, one great great niece and one great great nephew. Charlotte was proceeded in death by her husband Muril, her sister Connie, her daughter Lavina, and her parents Charles A. and Mae Shaffer.Donations

As the only funeral home in Elmore County, the staff at Rost Funeral Home work hard to be active members of the Mountain Home community and to be there to take care of families in every way possible when the need arises. Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility....
