Elizabeth A. (Flanagan) Morgan
Elizabeth (Betty) Alma Morgan, 88, formerly of Fayetteville, NC passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025 in Charlotte, NC after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born in Cranston, Rhode Island on September 25,1936. As a young child , Betty was adopted by Lawrence and Alice (Carroll) Cote of Pawtucket , R.I.
After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart William G. Morgan, Jr. They shared 66 amazing years. As an Army wife, she traveled and lived in Paris France, New Deli, India, and Heidelberg Germany, moving 14 times in 20 years!
While they were stationed in Germany, she became the president of the NCO Wives Club for 5 years. After the military retirement of her husband, Betty started a porcelain doll business which she had for over 30 years. She was known as the “Doll Doc” among her friends and customers. She created many award-winning dolls for their beautiful costumes and hand painted faces.
Betty was a woman who loved life and was dedicated to caring for her family. She had a fiery personality, a great sense of humor, and a take charge disposition. She was a devoted & loving wife, mother, and friend. She had a special place in her heart for children and animals.
Betty had an amazing voice & a passion for singing. For many years Betty (& Bill) sang in the church choir of St Michael the Archangel Church of Fayetteville, NC. She loved her time volunteering her services to the Church and all the close friends they made there.
Her compassionate nature led her to become a volunteer for Hospice for 8 years.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband William G. Morgan Jr.(Bill). Her mother, Alice and father, Lawrence Cote, and sister Mary Kelly. She survived by her only son Ken and his wife Connie of Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Betty by donating to St Michaels the Archangel Catholic Church, or to your favorite Animal Rescue Charity or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 29, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Michaels the Archangel Catholic Church, 806 Arsenal Avenue, Fayetteville, NC 28305
