Frankfort - Larry Rush, 74, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born November 9, 1950, Larry lived a life marked by love, resilience, and devotion to his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Rush, and by his children and their families:
His daughter, Linda Hodel and her husband Bryan, their children, Lauren and her husband Shaun Nelson, Brooke Hodel, Tim Hodel, their grandchildren, Emerson, Olivia, Isabelle (children of Lauren and Shaun), daughter, Caroline Erley and her husband Michael, their children, Lee Pham, and Madeline Erley, daughter, Judy Bannister and Matt Hannah, their children, Wesley Hannah, Mia Hannah, Sarah Hannah, and Saydie Hannah, daughter, Susan Cope and her husband Richard, their children, Michael Cope, Jacob Hendershot and Payton Vance (and her husband MarQues), and their grandchildren, Gage and Madison Cope (Children of Michael Cope) and Juliana (child of Payton and MarQues), son, Benjamin Rush, his children, Brooke Rush and Madison Nasby (and her husband Seth), his grandchildren, Bennett (child of Brooke), Kennah, Theo, Ella (children of Madison and Seth), daughter, Dana Whitman, and her children, Allie Whitman, Sophie Whitman.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Eileen Rush, and his brother, Daniel Rush. He is survived by his sister, Milly Engle.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, his sense of humor, and the countless ways he showed love and support to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength that will continue through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also shared a special bond with his beloved pets, Belle and Blair, who brought him joy and companionship.
A private service will be held at home with close family and friends to celebrate Larry’s life and the love he shared with those dearest to him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in Larry’s memory. Donations may be made online at https://www.cancer.org. Larry’s life was a gift to all who knew him, and his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
