Martha Ellen Willis

Martha Ellen Willis, 79, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. She was born in Kingsport to the late Roy and Eunice Dykes. Ellen was a graduate of TPS in Nashville and held an Alumni position in her later years. She worked for Radio Electric in Kingsport for many years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Kingsport and later attended Pleasant View Baptist Church. Ellen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry and Tommy Dykes; sister, Nancy Jane Dykes.  

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Thomas Willis Sr.; daughter, Jayne Jarvis and husband Jason; son, Thomas Willis Jr, and wife Christie; grandchildren, Ashley and Noah Jarvis, and Brandon Thompson; great-grandchildren, Graci and Lucas Thompson; along with a host of friends and extended family. 

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Music will be provided by Bob Jarvis.  

A graveside service will be conducted at 2pm on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the Dykes Family Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50pm.
