It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Oree Underwood Jr. who left this world on September 20, 2025, for eternal glory. Born on October 16, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio. A visitation is planned for Tuesday, October 7, 2025 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 11:30 AM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Parkway Memorial Gardens with full military honors will be rendered.
Oree was a man of God, impeccable husband, man of few words, best father, and grandfather ever to all his children, and grandchildren, and beloved friend to many.
Oree was baptized at an early age at First Baptized Church of Walnut Hills, 2926 Park Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his late parents Beatrice & Oree Underwood Sr, brother William Underwood, and loving wife Carolyn of 33 years. He is survived by his sister Beverly Leonard, brothers Alvin and Greg Underwood. His children: Sabrina Sears, Antonio Sears, Anthony Sears, Kimberly McDonald, Angelea (Geronta) Taul and Chenise Underwood; grandchildren: Travon Sears, Jeremy Sears, Jasmine Sears, Emanuel Jackson, Jasmine McDonald, Marucs McDonald, Germani Whitman, Chermaine Whitman, Zuri Whitman and Caleb Taul; great grandchildren: Jeremy Jr, Jaliyah, Justin, Rayla, Amarion, Journi Sears; great-great grandchildren: Nalani Renee Sears; devoted friend Alice Jackson, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, and a host of extended family and friends.
Oree graduated from Princeton High School. He ran track and won several state competitions throughout his tenure in high school. He diligently served in the Air Force for 20 years. Stationed throughout the United States, Germany - this is where he found his passion for German beer and wine – he became somewhat of a connoisseur for this type of drinks, Europe and Saudi Arabia. Every morning, he would get up at dawn, read his daily scriptures, send us our morning texts, take a walk, and drink his coffee. After serving in the Air Force, he worked at Macon Airport and Boeing in Saudi Arabia. His signature smile and quiet demeanor showed the character of the man he was. He could put a smile on your face and a laugh in your heart. He was patience, kind, and a man of few words. He had a passion for sports: football, basketball, track (his favorite), and baseball (because of Caleb:). He gave valuable life lessons, he always wanted to see people happy and doing their best. Oree will be forever remembered by his loving spirit and smile.
