Roy Anthony Head

Roy Anthony Head, age 60 of Kingsport, TN went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.  Roy was born on July 23, 1965, in Kingsport, TN to David and Wanda Head.  On July 3, 1988, Roy married Delores Spears, and after 37 years of a beautiful life together, she survives. 

Roy loved his family, and he had many hobbies.  He enjoyed collecting all kinds of NASCAR and sports memorabilia.  He loved traveling and he was active with the Baseball Chapel ministry with the Kingsport Axmen.  Roy attended The Spring Church in Gate City, VA. 

Roy was preceded in death by his parents.  Those left to cherish his memory are his beautiful wife, who he loved so much, Delores Head; three daughters, Katarina Head, Kristina Kelly and her husband, James, and Deloris Mullins; his friend, who was like a brother, Matt Larkin; his five favorite cats, Mr. Pickels, Mr. Bear, Midnight, County, and Addi-Mo; and many loving friends.  

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport.  A funeral service will follow with Pastor Israel Crawford officiating.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11:00 am at Oak Hill Memorial Park.  Roy’s family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.   Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 am.
