Raymond "Bud" Hild
October 29th, 1949 - September 15th, 2025
Bud was born on October 29, 1949, to Raymond C. and Tempy Ann (Horn) in Nyssa, Oregon. The family later moved to Boise, where Bud attended school in the North End and graduated from Boise High School. He gave college a try at Boise College for a year before deciding textbooks weren’t his thing—and instead found his calling at Idaho Power, where he worked faithfully for over 30 years before retiring.
Bud had a deep love for the great outdoors. In his younger years, he enjoyed “wooding” (yes, that’s a real thing!) and camping under the stars with his family. He cherished vacations that took them to Canada, theme parks, and across many states—each trip packed with adventure and laughter.
One of Bud’s greatest joys was cheering on his kids in their sporting events. He coached Optimist football, Little League, YMCA basketball, and was a fixture at high school and college games. In the early years, he was the coach with the whistle; in the later years, he was the loudest fan in the stands—always proud, always present.
When his son Scott took up motorcycle racing, Bud dove in headfirst. He joined the Boise Ridge Riders and became an enthusiastic participant, sharing unforgettable annual motorcycle trips with his sons—memories that will live on forever.
Bud and his wife Michal embraced retirement with open arms. They traveled through various states, always making time to visit their children and grandchildren, creating moments that mattered most.
Bud is survived by his loving wife, Michal; his sons Shane (Angela), Scott (Jessica), John (Ashley); and his beloved daughter and “princess,” Kristi (Kevin Boyd). He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Olivia (Tyler Martin), Jess, Tillie, Charlie, Elizabeth, Tyler, Keegan, Kaiya, Greyson, and Naiya. He is also survived by his dear nephews Brandon (Vanessa) and Brian.
Bud’s legacy is one of laughter, loyalty, and love. He was the kind of man who could fix anything, cheer the loudest, and make you feel like you were the most important person in the room. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
