William (Bill) Carrick, resident of Colorado Springs, passed away at the age of 74, after a brief cancer illness, on August 31, surrounded by his Family.

William was a bright and shining light in the lives of all who knew him. His journey on this earth was one of a devoted Husband and Father.

He was born in 1950 in Glen Ridge Borough, New Jersey and spent his childhood there. He spent four years in the Navy during the Viet Nam war on the ship the USS Shreveport. He moved to Colorado in his adult years where he continued his education and received his B.S. at the University of Colorado-Denver. He lived in Littleton, Colorado for many years and moved to Colorado Springs in 2013. When his parents from New Jersey moved to Colorado and after his Mother passed away, he spent many years taking care of his Father who lived to the age of 102 years.

William loved reading, traveling with his wife Esther of 16 years, hunting with his Sons and going for walks with his wife and dog “Sparky”. He spent many years volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America and the Knights of Columbus. He loved Family get togethers with his Sons, their wives and his grandchildren. His Family was the light of his life. His faith and trust in God helped him to overcome his anxiety and gave him strength during his illness. We ask that you remember William not how his life ended but how he lived his life full of love for others.

William was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth Milholland and Ashley Carrick. He is survived by his wife, Esther Gonzales Carrick, his dog “Sparky”, his sons Stephen Gonzales, Alex Carrick, David Gonzales, Jimmy Gonzales, Alan Carrick, Andrew Carrick, Austin Carrick and their wives and his sweet  Grandchildren. As well as his daughter, Elizabeth Kirschen.
