It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gloria Hardwick, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who departed this world on September 24, 2025, at the age of 100 in Westminster, Colorado. Born on April 1, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan, Gloria was a beacon of kindness and generosity, traits that endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Gloria's life was marked by resilience and grace. A single mother, she moved to Colorado, where she embraced the challenges and rewards of raising her beloved children: Carol, Michael, Kathleen, Daniel, and Laura. Her independent spirit allowed her to flourish in her career, where she served diligently as a secretary, ultimately retiring from her role assisting the Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court.

Her legacy lives on through her family, as she is survived by her brother Peter, her children Carol (Rob), Michael (Lois), and Laura (John), grandchildren Mark (Anessa), Keith (Misty), Kevin (Dani), Jeanette (Biagio), Kaila (Shane) T’Nell (David), Caspiann (Moriah), Elisa (Rick), Julia (Dustin), Regina (Tim), Rachel, Elizabeth (Andrew), and Christine (Tim), and an extensive lineage of great-grandchildren—31 great-grandchildren to be exact. Each of them carries a piece of her loving spirit, shaped by the values she imparted and the laughter she shared.

Besides her parents and siblings, she is proceeded in death by her spouse Joe, children Kathleen and Daniel “Buddy,” grandchild Maria and great grandchild Zachary.

A woman of faith, Gloria was actively involved in her community and dedicated her time to several missions. She found fulfillment in volunteering at her church, where she proudly served as the prayer chain coordinator and was known for her deep connection to those in need. Her heart extended to all, including her stepchildren whom she lovingly embraced as her own.

Gloria’s personality was vibrant, characterized by an infectious laughter that could light up any room. She was a force of nature—navigating the challenges of life with unwavering strength. Despite enduring the profound loss of two children and beloved grandchild and great grandchild, Gloria embraced life with dignity, exemplifying love, compassion, and strength. She took on the role of caregiver for many, demonstrating her deep love and commitment to her family and community.

In her later years, Gloria embraced new adventures, finding joy in fishing and traveling with her late husband Joe. Her Italian roots showed in her love for cooking, especially at Christmas, famous for her peanut brittle and pizzelles. Her commitment to her family remained steadfast as she actively participated in their lives, remembering all her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s birthdays and of course Christmas, a feat that is no small task given the large and loving family she nurtured.

In lieu of flowers, Gloria would have appreciated contributions to her favored missions, reflecting her passion for faith and community, including the Bible of the Month Club, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and A World Aware, Inc.

Gloria Hardwick will be remembered not only for her achievements but for the legacy of warmth and compassion she left behind. May her spirit continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
