Susan Jane Lorimer-Wunderlich
July 15th, 1939 - September 23rd, 2025
Susan J. Lorimer-Wunderlich, born on July 15, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio, a woman known for her infectious laughter, vibrant spirit, and unwavering dedication to helping others, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025. From her earliest days, Susan showed a voracious appetite for knowledge, a restless curiosity, and a deep sense of purpose. She attended schools in Michigan and Chicago, pursuing multiple professional degrees — first in interior design, then architecture, and ultimately, in law. That breadth of learning was never just for accolades — it was always for using her gifts and talents for serving the greater good. Her talents led her to California, where she made a significant impact in all the communities she lived in. One of the high points in her professional life occurred in 1987, when she was named "Marquis Who's Who" in America, Finance & Industry for her architectural design accomplishments — a recognition of her devotion to excellence in design, bridging form with functionality and beauty. Beyond her professional achievements, Susan was deeply committed to her community. She was a member of the Ione Community United Methodist Church and an active volunteer, always ready to lend a hand and share her love of life. She'd show up. She'd listen. She'd roll up her sleeves. She'd care.Susan is survived by her loving husband, Jack Wunderlich — her partner, confidant, and soulmate. She also leaves behind dear stepsons and in-laws: Kirk and Alejandra Wunderlich, Jon and Cindy Wunderlich, Roy and Therese Wunderlich, and the grandsons who brought her immeasurable pride: Daniel Berrelez, Karl Wunderlich, and Ken Wunderlich. She will also be dearly missed by the strong friendships she developed, including those with Martha Muñiz and Don Archuleta.Susan's kindness, generosity, and lively spirit will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A viewing for friends wishing to pay their respects will be held at the Daneri Mortuary, located at 415 Broadway, Jackson, CA 95642, on October 2, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
