It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Charles Boynton, Jr. (“Bob,” “Bobby”) at the age of 78, in Ashippun, Wisconsin.
Bob was the eldest child of Robert Charles Boynton, Sr., and Dolores (Millis) Boynton, born January 4, 1947, in Whitewater, Wisconsin. He graduated from Whitewater High School in 1965, where he played football and ran track; his speed earned him the nickname “Bullet.”
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Stout in 1974 with a B.S. in Industrial Technology. He spent many years as a plant general manager in manufacturing and later followed his enthusiasm for trucking, becoming an owner-operator of a dump truck until his retirement in 2013. His interests included architecture, classic cars, motorsports, cycling, weightlifting, history, gaming, and investing.
In recent years, he dedicated time to volunteering at his local senior center. As a father, he modeled a strong work ethic, the importance of continual learning and self-improvement, and the benefits of fiscal responsibility for his two sons, all delivered with his signature dry sense of humor.
Bob is survived by his children, Jason and Colin Boynton; their mother, Marie Boynton; and Colin’s partner, Marilyn “Mera” Edwards. He is also survived by his siblings, Brent Boynton, Kevin Boynton, and Denise Klefbohm; sisters-in-law, Roxanne and Lisa Boynton; and brother-in-law, Randy Klefbohm. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Charles Boynton, Sr., and Dolores Boynton.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, WI. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Whitewater.

Nitardy Funeral Homes - Whitewater
We have proudly served the Southern Wisconsin community since 1932, when our founder Hilmar A. Nitardy opened his first funeral home in the area. We feel very fortunate to continue serving the community three generations later. In 2007, we constructed our first funeral home in Whitewater. Here, our mission is the same as it has been for over 90 years: help walk our community through times of grief and provide beautiful and meaningful services to every family that walks through our doors. We are proud that Whitewater families trust us to take care of their loved ones....
