Lilia "Lily" S. Sandoval

Lilia (Lily) S. Sandoval, 89, of Albuquerque, New Mexico beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister died on September 11th, 2025. Lilia was born on September 24th, 1935, in North Hurley, New Mexico. 

Lilia grew up in Hurley, NM where she went to school and graduated with a high school diploma. Lilia was a young woman when she met Melisendro (Mel) Sandoval and shortly thereafter they were married on the 15th of May 1956; they were married for 60 years until Melisendro passed away in 2016. Lilia and Mel moved to and lived briefly in Tucson, AZ as Melisendro was working for a mining company there. Lilia was very well known and loved in the Hurley community, maintaining many long lastingrelationships. Later in their lives, Lilia and Melisendro moved to Santa Fe NM where she worked for a KMart Corp in various capacities for over 20 years. Lilia enjoyed playing bingo with her many friends as well as spending time with her family. Lilia also loved to cook and was well known for her delicious flourtortillas made from scratch.

Lilia is survived by her son Gilbert, daughters Yvonne and Yolanda, brother Arnold Silva, daughter-in-law Theresa, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildern. Lilia truly loved being with her family on special occasions and holidays when she entertained all with her humorand laughter; she loved everyone and anyone who knew Lilia loved her. Lilia will always be remembered as a model wife, mother and overall beautiful woman.

We all love her very much and will miss her greatly!

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel, 209 San Mateo Blvd NE,Albuquerque, NM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque.
