Maureen Anne Baum
October 23rd, 1951 - September 16th, 2025
Maureen Anne Baum, age 73, of Loveland, Colorado, formerly of Sauk City, Wisconsin, passed away on September 16th, 2025, at Pathways Inpatient Care Center Hospice in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Maureen was born on October 23, 1951, in Sauk City, to Norman & Deloris Hicks.
Maureen grew up the second of 13 children. Being the oldest girl, she helped with house chores and took care of the younger siblings. Her mom still talks about what a hard worker she was. Her strong work ethic continued her entire life.
Maureen was raised with a strong Catholic faith, that continued until her last day on earth.
She married Donald Baum in 1971. They moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1980. Maureen worked as a bookkeeper for 20 years. She was known for her infectious laugh & loving, caring spirit to everyone she met and worked with.
Maureen enjoyed spending time with her big family and friends, cooking and doing all sorts of puzzles. Maureen will be remembered for her beautiful, graceful handwriting – a note from her carried warmth and meaning. Her cooking was unforgettable – no one made zucchini muffins, Rice Krispie bars, hash brown bake, or seven-layer salad like she did. Maureen gave so much of herself to those around her that she loved. She created a legacy of kindness, deep connections, and an unwavering love that lives on in all of us.
Maureen is survived by her husband of 54 years, Don; son, Donny, daughter in-law, Stephanie and grandson, Mason; mother, Deloris Hicks; brothers: Norm, Tim, Dave, Joe, Pat, Mike & Tom; sisters: Sandy Statz-Miller, Nancy Draves & Karen Hicks-Pugh; siblings in-law: Jim, John, Ted, Ann Furr, Mary Denning & Susan Baum-Reichman; and many friends and relatives, both in Wisconsin & Colorado.
Maureen was preceded in death by her father, Norman (Barney) Hicks; sisters: Kristy & Sharon; brother in-law, Gary Statz; nephew, Brian Hicks; her grandparents; her father and mother in-law, Ted & Deanice Baum; infant brother in-law, Charles Baum; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A service to honor Maureen’s life will be held on October 10th, 2025, at 11 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland, Colorado. There will be a Celebration of Life in Sauk City, WI, on November 8.
The family wishes to thank Pathways Hospice for the care that they provided to Maureen in her last days.
