With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Charles “Chuck” Roland Towne II, 50, of Charleston, South Carolina, who entered into eternal peace on September 27, 2025.

Chuck was born on October 26, 1974, to Charles Roland Towne Sr. and Treva Dowd Towne. Raised in Charleston, he attended Middleton High School, graduating in 1992, before going on to Clemson University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business with a Minor in Marketing. From then on, he was dedicated to being “ALL IN” and his blood ran orange.

After college, Chuck returned home to help run the family business. He went on to manage the True Value Hardware Store on Johns Island for many years. Co-workers became his extended family. Dedicated to his community, he was an active member and elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Charleston.

On August 14, 2004, Chuck married the love of his life, Christine Farrior Towne. Together they built a beautiful family and raised three children—Olivia, Chase, and Faith—who were the joy of his life. Inspired by his son’s own battle with cancer, Chuck became a passionate advocate for Childhood Cancer Research. He founded the nonprofit Hammer Out Pediatric Cancer campaign, which grew into a 5K race and fun run, raising awareness and support for pediatric cancer research.

Even after his cancer diagnosis in 2021, Chuck remained a pillar of strength. He faithfully showed up at his children’s soccer and football games and embraced every “forced family fun” event with love and humor.

Chuck was known for his tireless work ethic, his willingness to help with any project, and his boundless love for his family and community. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose kindness and strength touched countless lives.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Christine Farrior Towne; their children, Olivia, Chase, and Faith; his parents Charles Roland Towne Sr. and Treva Dowd Towne; and his brothers, Chris (Ashley), Chad (Cathy), Carey (Kelly); 11 beloved nieces and nephews, as well as several uncles, aunts and cousins.

He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A Service of Witness to the Resurrection and Giving Thanks for the life of Chuck Towne will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Westminster Presbyterian Church (1157 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407). The family will receive friends and family following the service in Covenant Hall at the Church. His service will also be livestreamed on the Westminster Presbyterian Church Website (wpccharleston.org).

In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Good Samaritan fund at Westminster Presbyterian Church or to the Hammer Out Pediatric Cancer Corp. through Venmo (@hammeroutcancer).
