Lani D. Hill
June 6th, 1947 - September 16th, 2025
Lani Dean Hill, age 78, of Elizabeth, Colorado, died peacefully at home September 16, 2025.
Lani was born in Bremerton, Washington, June 6, 1947 to parents Herman Jacob Hill, and Nina Lela Southwick-Hill. Lani served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He will be buried at Ft. Logan National cemetery with honors.
After discharge from the Army, Lani attended the University of Colorado, Denver. On December 14, 1968 Lani married Mary Jo Fauver in Denver.
Lani worked for 31 years for Chrysler Corporation in Denver, and was a member of the United Auto Workers, local 186. He served in many leadership roles for the Union.
Lani lived in Elizabeth 45 years. Shortly after settling in Elizabeth Lani with the help of his sons built a barn with a shop. His shop was his favorite place to be after he retired. He was a bit of pack rat in his shop. He kept so many items simply because “I might need it someday”.
Lani loved the game of golf until he wasn’t able to play due to his health. He loved spending time with his sons Todd & Scott. His most favorite time was with his sons during their annual hunting trips to the Troublesome area, near Granby, as well as numerous golf trips with them, and helping them build three homes.
Lani is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Jo, son Scott Jacob, daughter-in-law Dana, grandson Jacob Dean Hill of Byers, Colorado. Granddaughter Jalyn & husband Jacob Lowry of Redmond, Oregon, and favorite nephew Paul W. Fauver, Jr., & wife Dayana of Aurora. Lani is pre-deceased by his parents, brothers, Victor, Leland, Lowell, Wendell Posey, son, Todd Dean, and his best friend Paul Fauver, Sr.
