Robert W. “Bud” Ryan, Jr., a devoted family man, proud Veteran, servant to his church and community, and friend to all who crossed his path, passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on June10, 1936, in Lebanon, NH to Robert W. Ryan, Sr. And Marjorie J. Ryan, their only child. Bud lived a life full of service, laughter and love, touching countless lives along the way. Bud moved to the Orlando area after serving his country honorably in the United States Navy (1956-1960); retired after a distinguished 47-year career in the lumber industry, marked by dedication and integrity at Panning Lumber in Orlando and Clermont Building Supply. Bud was always active in his churches: St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Orlando, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Apopka and the past 18 years with St. Joseph of the Forest Mission, Silver Springs. Bud and Pat were most active in the Kairos Prison Ministry. Bud still found time for the Boy Scouts of America, the Knights of Columbus, International Concatenated Order of Hoo-Hoo just to name a few. He and Pat went on to serve their community, volunteering for years on the Board of the Community Association and Road Trust in Forest Lakes Park. Bud had a gift for making friends wherever he went and offered unconditional love to everyone. Whether cooking for an event at his church, hunting, fishing, shopping at a local grocery store, or simply being Bud....his easy smile and warm personality made people feel like they’d known him forever. Bud shared 37-years of marriage with Patricia “Pat” (Goins) Ryan. Together, they blended their seven children and maintained a home filled with love and unforgettable memories.

Bud’s legacy will live on through his survivors: his loving wife Pat, children Kelly Ryan Halliday, Roy L. Goins, Jr., Lisa B. Goins, nine grandchildren to whom Bud was “Gramps”, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and an uncountable number of friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Marjorie Ryan; the mother of his four children and wife for 30 years, Brenda Hill; his sons, Robert W. Ryan III, Patrick S. Ryan, and Timothy J. Ryan and daughter-in-law Kimberly (Goins) Ryan. Bud’s life was one of love, service, family, friendship, and finding joy in every day.

Though he may no longer be with us in person, his stories, wisdom, laughter and kindness will live on in all who knew him. A mass in honor of Bud will be held at St. Joseph of the Forest Mission, Silver Springs on October 10, 2025, at 6pm, and a Celebration of Life at Forest Lakes Park Community Association on October 12, 2025, at 2pm. A committal service will be held at a later date, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Arrangements are being made by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, Belleview.
