Carolyn Long Whittaker

Carolyn Long Whittaker, 90, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. She was born in Madison County, KY on December 19, 1934 to the late William Francis and Mary Cox Long. Carolyn retired from the State of Kentucky in the Social Services Department.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 74 years, William Ray Whittaker; her sons, David Whittaker (Betty) and Michael Whittaker (Kimberly); daughter in law, Yvonne Whittaker; 3 grandchildren, Thomas Whittaker (Meg), Laura Cole (Matt), and Cameron Whittaker (Caroline); and 3 great grandchildren, Reagan Cole, Devlyn Emmett, and Alex Cole.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William Franklin Whittaker; and her brother, John David Long.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd on Friday, October 3, 2025. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Whittaker, Cameron Whittaker, Matt Cole, Reagan Cole, Devlyn Emmett, and Alex Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Anderson, John Cox, Ron Downs, Tony Hyatt, Marty Pittman, Ralph Shields, and Jerry Vance. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridgeport Christian Church or to Capital City Activity Center.
