Stanley Carl Barthlama
February 19th, 1943 - September 20th, 2025
Stanley Carl Barthlama, 82, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025.
Born February 19, 1943, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, Stan grew up with a sense of hard work, family, and commitment to help others. He graduated high school in Fort Morgan where he met the love of his life, Diane Zebuhr. In 1969, the two moved to Loveland, with their two young sons, so Stan could take a job with Garrett Motors to start the next chapter of their lives.
Stan’s career reflected his lifelong passion for fixing cars and for helping people. He began as a deputy sheriff, went on to become an automotive technician at several dealerships, and in 1984 founded Stan’s Auto Service. He also shared his knowledge as an automotive instructor, training and inspiring the next generation of technicians.
Beyond his work, Stan gave countless hours to others. He led the Northern Colorado Youth Outreach Program through Pheasants Forever, mentoring and guiding young people. For over 20 years, Pheasants Forever was a cornerstone and passion in his life, where he expanded the outreach program to include women’s and veteran’s events.
Stan and Diane were also avid travelers. Together they visited every state in the country, including Hawaii and Alaska. Most of those trips were spent in their fifth wheel rv, where they created many memories that will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane, his son Sheldon and wife Pamela with their children Hayden and Erika, and his son Rick and wife Laurie with their children Cassandra and Dalton. He is also survived by his sisters Nancy Pruess and Barb (Mike) Musgrave, both in Stratton, Colorado, as well as many nieces, nephews and many other relatives who will hold his memory dear.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Betty Barthlama and his brother JB Barthlama.
A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Church on November 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Stan’s life.
Stan will be remembered for his integrity, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family, community, and the outdoors.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Stan Barthlama Memorial Fund through Pheasants Forever.
