Earl C. Miller
January 28th, 1929 - September 30th, 2025
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Kingsport – Rev. Earl C. Miller, age 96 of Kingsport, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center after declining health.
Earl was born January 28, 1929, to Conway and Ora Mae Jenkins Miller. On June 16, 1950, Earl married his soulmate, Nell Jennings Miller, and was blessed with 74 wonderful years of marriage with her prior to her death on December 8, 2024.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Earl was preceded in death by his beloved son, Mike Miller, his brother Walter Miller, and sisters, Edith Smith and Betty Lane.
Earl was honored to serve in the United States Army from 1946 to 1949 and later served in the Army reserves. Earl later went on to work at TN Eastman and retired with 28 years of service.
Those left to cherish his memory are his nephews, Ronnie Lane (Lana), Bob Lane (Cindy), nieces Kay Davis (Larry), and Carol Cress who provided loving care after the loss of his wife, other nieces, nephews, and many loving church friends.
Earl’s greatest joy was to serve his Lord and spread the Gospel. Earl was a dedicated Pastor for nearly 50 years, serving in the pulpit of many churches from 1978 until 2024. He most recently pastored Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church. Many church friends cherish the impact he had on their lives. He was always willing to be there in times of need, and his testimony will live on in the lives of those he was blessed to serve as their pastor and call friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 3rd, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 with Rev. Timothy Strickland and Rev. Jerry Chandler officiating. Earl will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Memorial Park following the service. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church is located at 1100 Nelms Lane Kingsport, TN 37665.
