Carol Lynne Peters
September 25th, 2025
In Loving Memory of Carol Lynne Peters (née Pedersen)Venice, FL & Hudson, OH
Carol Lynne Peters, 85, lovingly known as both Carol and Lynne, went home to her Lord and Savior on September 25, 2025. Carol was born in Canton, Ohio to Arthur & Audrey Pedersen (nee Swank). She was a devoted mother to Lisa Mustapich (Chuck) and Jill Peters (Sander Wechsler) and a proud, adoring grandmother to Jill’s son, Nathaniel Austen.
Carol’s love for adventure and family shone brightly in the many travels she shared with Roger, her beloved husband, and their daughters. From cross-country trips in their travel trailer to far-flung journeys to Egypt, Japan, China, Alaska, and European cruises, Carol embraced the world with wonder and joy. Her green thumb was legendary—her gardens flourished with vibrant hostas, juicy tomatoes, and tart rhubarb, all tended with love.
An avid bridge player, Carol found joy and friendship in her bridge clubs in both Ohio and Florida. She treasured time spent with her sister Arlene Coblentz (Mike), and brother Fred Pedersen (Barb), sharing laughter, stories, and the comfort of lifelong bonds. When her cherished Roger passed after nearly 53 years of marriage, Jody, her Jack Russell Terrier, provided Carol with love, cuddles and an endless supply of dog fur.
Carol’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found spiritual nourishment and community at Hudson United Methodist Church and Christ Venice Church, where she formed lasting friendships and deepened her connection to God.
A lifelong learner, she earned her RN / BSN from The Ohio State University and her MSN from Kent State University. Her passion for mental health care led her to a distinguished 35-year career as a Registered Nurse and psychiatric nurse administrator. She served at Western Reserve State Psychiatric Hospital and retired as Director of Nursing from Cleveland State Psychiatric Hospital. Carol was known not only for her clinical expertise but also for her empathy and unwavering compassion. She was a guiding light for her daughters, inspiring them to pursue their own paths with confidence and purpose.
Carol’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be remembered always.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:30am at Christ Venice Church, 1475 Center Rd, Venice FL 34293, followed by light refreshments.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org/) or Multiple Breed Rescue (www.mbrohio.com/donate).
