Lena Flo Chesser

Lena Flo Chesser 82, of Duffield went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at her home.

She was born in Scott County, Virginia to the late William and Ella Bowen. Lena was a devoted Christian and  member of Duffield Primitive Baptist Church. She also attended Faith Chapel in Duffield. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Dean Chesser; granddaughter, Roxanna Baker; sister, Janet Tignor; brother, Johnny Bowen.

Survivors include her daughter, Donetta Blevins and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Robin Dunn, Travis Baker; great-grandchildren, Matthew Baker and wife Cassie, Zachary Bowen, and Emily Bowen; sisters, Nancy Bowen and Barbara Jennings; brother, Hub Bowen; special friend, Lisa Bowen; along with a host of friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Robert Slone and Pastor Bill LaFollette officiating. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 pm on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at the Chesser family cemetery in Duffield with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 pm.
