Jose A. Ayala Torres, age 70, of Amsterdam, NY passed away September 26, 2025 in Amsterdam. He was born on March 14, 1955 in Carolina, Puerto Rico to the late Antolin Ayala and Carmen Torres.
Jose found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, nurturing his garden, creating with his hands, and spending peaceful days fishing. He was known for his generous spirit, always ready to help others, and for the deep pride and love he held for his family and his culture.
Jose is survived by his daughters Jessica Ayala, Maria Sanchez, and Julia Caro; his grandchildren Michelette, Tahlea, Ceasar, Ramello, Shaharah, Cassandra, and William; and his great- grandchildren Julian, Slade, Kairi, Kaleb, Cataleya, Petey Jr, and Camilla
He was predeceased by his beloved soulmate, Brunilda Soto, whom he met in Brooklyn, in 1989 they moved to Amsterdam. Their 47 years together were filled with love, cherished memories, and a beautiful family that reflects the life they built side by side. A devoted and hardworking man, Jose spent more than five decades in the construction industry, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and craftsmanship.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue Amsterdam, NY. A service will take place at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
