Peter Michael “Pete” Skubal, age 72, passed from this earthly life into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to be in his eternal home on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Pete was born in Rhinelander, Wisconsin on September 4, 1953, to Ruth Mary and Eugene Clarence Skubal. He graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1971 and continued his studies at a nearby community college.

In the years that followed, Pete moved to Charleston, where he built a long and respected career as an industrial millwright and maintenance mechanic at WestRock (originally Westvaco), retiring in 2022. After retirement, he continued to serve his community through his work with Kelly Bus Tours, where he became a beloved and frequently requested driver for local sports teams and Faith Church groups.

Pete will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet faith, kind heart, and steady presence. He touched many lives with his humble service and devotion to both his work and his community.

Pete is survived by his loving wife, Rose Maxine Skubal of Summerville, SC; daughters Nicole Lynn and Rebecca Jane of Wisconsin; and stepsons Perry D. and Kerry L. Vincent of Summerville, SC. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Ryan, Seth, Lacy, Cheyenne, Zachery, and Noah, as well as great-grandchildren Gracie Rose and Baby JC.

In addition, Pete is survived by his mother, Ruth Mary Skubal of Rhinelander, WI, and his siblings Mary Urquhart, Julie Clark, Doug Skubal, Ted Skubal, and Sally (Dan) Sniadajewski.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Clarence Skubal; his sister, Loretta Rolain; and his stepson, Terry W. Vincent.

The Celebration of Life for Pete will be Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Faith Church of Summerville, SC (337 Farmington Rd.). The Skubal family invite you to a visitation at 2PM to be followed by a celebration service at 3PM in the main sanctuary, building 4.

Pete was a true servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His life was marked by dedication, humility, and unwavering service to his family, church, and community.

His journey of service began in his youth as an Eagle Scout and continued into adulthood as a local firefighter. Pete remained deeply committed to his faith, serving faithfully in his church as a member of the Security Team, as an usher, and  a garage mechanic for widows and those in need — always ready to lend a helping hand and offer a warm welcome.

Pete was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Maxine, whom he served and cherished for 30 years. They were married in 1995 at Faith Assembly of God, where they both actively served for many years. In more recent years, they continued their ministry together at Faith Church in Ridgeville, SC.

Pete will be remembered as a conscientious and humble servant — a man who lived with purpose and finished his race well. His legacy is one of faith, love, and quiet strength. We celebrate his life with the words we know he longed to hear: "Well done, good and faithful servant."
