Bradley Alvin Hunt, our favorite cowboy, weatherman, wild mushroom aficionado, cheerleader, head grill master, and game night chaos lover—our in-house Renaissance man—tipped his hat and headed off to his next adventure on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Centennial, Colorado. He passed suddenly at the age of 68, shortly after learning of his Acute Myeloid Leukemia diagnosi and  leaving a void as vast as the Southwest canyons he so admired. Not to be left behind or miss out on the next hunt, his loyal sidekick of almost 13 years, Jubal Sackett, trotted off behind him the same evening. We imagine Bradley slapping his thigh with a “come on boy” and them heading off together into the sunset.   Born on July 26, 1957, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Bradley was one of six children to Anita and James Hunt, growing up in a lively household that nurtured his boundless curiosity and warmth. He graduated from Mount Vernon Township High School, where he ran a yard care and wallpapering business with his brothers. His entrepreneurial spirit shone early; he even sold encyclopedias door-to-door to fund his college tuition.   Brad attended Eastern Illinois University, where he served as the proud president of its Sigma Chi fraternity chapter and moonlighted as a disco DJ, spinning tunes that captured the joy of his 70s folk-loving heart. It was there he met and married his college sweetheart, Susan Sumner, and welcomed their daughter, Brooke Anne Hunt and took on his first job hocking tires—proudly claiming the innovative idea of using shredded tires for playground surfacing while watching her antics there. He later earned his Master's in Business Administration from Wayne State University before embarking on a distinguished career in wealth management. As an executive at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, Charles Schwab, UBS, and Farm Bureau Financial Services, Brad developed and mentored teams with the same steady guidance he offered his family, fostering growth and resilience in all he touched. Brad was recognized throughout his career as a great leader, manager, and coach by fellow wealth management professionals.   Bradley met Maritta in 2006, they married in 2008 and their family soon grew to a party of 5 with the addition of twins Braxton Alexander and Brighley Alaine then the cherry-on-top, Bryce Amelia. Above all, Brad was a devoted father, beaming over his all four of his children and their active lives. Brooke Anne’s recent engagement, Brighley’s resilience and strength, Braxton's aviation and aeronautics interests, and Bryce’s verve in academics, dance, volleyball and theatre all filled him with pride. He championed their pursuits in tennis, the arts, and travel, sharing his inquisitive nature through rustic camping adventures and explorations of nature's mysteries. He supported their roles in the Civil Air Patrol and Naval Sea Cadets, instilling a love of history and patriotism.    Brad's passions painted a life rich with wonder: delving into Ghosthunters and Missing 411 tales, losing himself in science fiction, humming along to classic country music, and weaving bedtime stories that his kids’ adored. A lifelong fan of martial arts, he earned his third degree black belt at the World Taekwondo Headquarters in Korea, embodying the discipline and strength he passed on to those he loved. Despite his love of adventure and new places, most Sundays found him on the back deck, grilling meat over an open flame, surrounded by his kids and the aroma of shared meals. He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, warmth, creativity, curiosity, and love of nature and hunting—always ready for the next story, the next laugh, the next horizon.   He is survived by his wife, Maritta (Hoover) Hunt; his cherished children; his siblings Bruce, Brenda, Beverly, and Barbara; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends who became family. Brad was predeceased by his parents and his older brother, Bernie.   A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 1-3 p.m. at the Kimpton Claret in Denver. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to organizations supporting youth outdoor education or animal rescues, honoring Brad's love for adventure and his faithful companion. 529 accounts have also been established to realize higher education goalsfor Braxton and Bryce, please consider contributions at https://go.fidelity.com/p2u5vl or https://go.fidelity.com/489297.
