Richard "Rick" William Widdicombe
November 15th, 1974 - September 23rd, 2025
Richard William "Rick" Widdicombe, 50, passed away recently in Charleston, South Carolina. Born on November 15, 1974, in Libertyville, Illinois, Rick was the beloved son of the late Robert James Widdicombe and Joan Smoger.
Rick's life was marked by the love he shared with his family and friends. Rick enjoyed fishing and being out in nature. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Robbie Widdicombe and Conner Pierce; and Jodi Vandervort. He is also cherished in memory by his siblings: Kathleen Barrett, Patricia Bernhardt, Robert W. Widdicombe, Jason Widdicombe, Vicki Williams, Crystal Smoger, and Heather Smoger.
Rick's presence will be deeply missed by his extended family including three uncles, an aunt, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His services will be held privately.
As people of faith, we take comfort in knowing that Rick's earthly journey has been completed and that he is now at his home with his Savior, Jesus Christ. He has entered into the joy of eternal life in Heaven, where there is no more pain or sorrow, only piece and the presence of God. As 2 Corinthians 5:8 reminds us, "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."
Until we are reunited with him in Christ's presence, may Rick's memory be a blessing to those who knew him.
