Bernard Carl Rosenthal or as most people knew him by “Bernie”, was the 1st born son to farmers, Carl and Edna Rosenthal, born November 26, 1930, in Cadot, Wisconsin. Bernie also had 2 kid brothers (as he liked to say) who proceeded him in seeing Jesus, Alan Rosenthal (married to Eunice who have 2 children, Keith and Valerie) and Vernon Rosenthal who went to heaven at age 14, from a tragic car accident.
Bernie left the farm to attend North Central Bible College and was the first to graduate college in his immediate family. Although Bernie left the farm, the farm never left Bernie! He was able to achieve his dream, later in life, to purchase the family farm and he cash cropped for a period of time. He loved to drive the tractor!!
After Bernie graduated college, he started speaking throughout the Midwest, as a young evangelist which eventually led him to Hutchinson, Kansas. There he met the gal that stole his heart, Margaret Louise Altvater! Together they pastored starting in Sheldon, Wisconsin & throughout Northern Wisconsin. In April 1961, they had their only son, Verlyn Carl.
Bernie was a builder. God blessed his business “Rosenthal Construction”. After almost 30 years in Wisconsin, He felt the pull to move to Colorado in 1981, but Wisconsin never left his heart!
Bernie loved God, He had a passion for missions, he loved Israel, and he loved seeing people introduced to Jesus!
On September 27, 2025, Bernie met Jesus, face to face! and exchanged his address in Colorado to that of his heavenly home.
He leaves behind his precious wife, Margaret Louise, son Verlyn Carl Rosenthal (married to Valerie), His granddaughter, Lauren Nicole Brown (Married to Spencer) and 2 great grandchildren (Maddie 6 & Max 3) all living in Golden Colorado.
