Dale Hilton Williams, age 81 of Gate City, VA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Dale was born on October 2, 1944, in Scott County, VA to Patton and Thelma Williams. Dale served in the National Guard for four years and he retired from the Kingsport Press after 42 years of dedicated service. On October 21, 1971, Dale married his most cherished friend, Wilma Hill, and after almost 54 years of marriage, she survives.
Dale loved spending time with his family, and he enjoyed bowling.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Jimmy Williams, Ronald Williams, and Jack Williams. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Wilma Williams; two daughters, Lisa Williams, and Vicki Williams; four grandchildren, Zack Horner (Audrey), Noah Horner (Phoebe), Kolby Grimes, and Mattie Grace Kimbler; one great grandson, Hunter Horner; sister-in-law, Lori Hill; special nephew, Jason Hill; two nephews, David Williams, and Doug Williams; one niece, Becky McClain (Johnny); and many loving family and friends.
The family would like to give a special “Thank you” to the staff of Caris Hospice.
In honoring Dale’s wish, there will be no formal services scheduled at this time.
