Patricia Pepper Leader
10/14/28-09/08/25
Patricia “Pat” P. Leader, aged 86, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by her loving family. She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend.
Patricia is survived by her four devoted children: James Jr. (Tina), John (Susan), Betsy, and Thomas, along with ten grandchildren: Erin, Aiden, Laura, Justus, Jonas, Sean, Janelle, James, Katie, and Matthew. Her later years were filled with the joy of spending time with her grandchildren and passing on her “pearls of wisdom”.
Born in 1938 in Schenectady, New York, to Dorothy and Karl Pepper, Patricia's life was marked by love and devotion. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and her sister, Bette.
After graduating from Elmira College in 1960, Patricia married James Leader later that same year. They established their family in Schenectady, where they laid down roots. In 1975, they embarked on a new adventure, moving west to Tucson, Arizona, with their four children.
Pat began her married life as a dedicated homemaker before venturing into real estate in the 1980s. Her remarkable career saw her rise to become one of the top real estate agents in Tucson, a testament to her hard work and determination. Many clients became lifelong friends, whom Pat always enjoyed running into and talking with over the years.
For 50 years, Pat thrived in Tucson, nurturing her children, building a successful real estate career, and proudly watching all her kids attend the University of Arizona. Family trips back to New York, especially to their beloved Lake George, were a highlight of their lives, creating wonderful memories that will be cherished forever.
Her final years, although marked with health issues, were spent living with John and Susan Leader. We are eternally grateful for all that they did for her, giving her comfort, love and providing endless support. Pat was a gracious lady in both spirit and life, she had a profound love for antiques, University of Arizona sports teams, and, most importantly, her family.
Patricia's legacy of love and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who know her. A celebration of life will be held in Tucson, Arizona on December 28th and next year, in upstate New York.
