Nejla Emily Mason Abdon passed away peacefully at home on September 28th.  Widow to Richard Lee Abdon, she was an avid Florida Gators fan as a regular season ticket holder.  She loved reading, drawing, and teaching others about The Lord, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed visits to the Indiatlantic Boardwalk, Ballard Park, and morning coffee at McDonald's or Panera with friends.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who lived a life guided by faith. Her legacy is one of faith, family, and service.

She is survived by her sister, Arlene Johnston; her children: sons Jeffrey, Michael (Sharon), David (Michele), and daughter Amy Jarrett (Chris).  She was a loving grandmother to Kaitlin Camire (Jesse) Brooke, Jared, Karina, Evan, and Aidan, and will be remembered by her cousins, nieces, and extended family.

Nejla leaned on her Baptist faith holding weekly Bible study and volunteering in her church for many years.  Her storytelling chalk drawings were always a focal point for her teachings.

She lived a Christian lifestyle during her marriage to Richard from 1956 to his passing in 2021.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at Discovery Village in Melbourne on Saturday, October 11th at 2:00pm.
