Nejla Mason Abdon
April 12th, 1935 - September 28th, 2025

Nejla Emily Mason Abdon passed away peacefully at home on September 28th. Widow to Richard Lee Abdon, she was an avid Florida Gators fan as a regular season ticket holder. She loved reading, drawing, and teaching others about The Lord, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed visits to the Indiatlantic Boardwalk, Ballard Park, and morning coffee at McDonald's or Panera with friends.
She is survived by her sister Arlene Johnston; sons Jeffrey, Michael, David; daughter Amy; daughter and son-in-laws Sharon, Michele, Christopher. Grandchildren Kaitlin and her husband Jesse, Brooke, Jared, Karina, Evan, and Aidan, and cousins and nieces.
Nejla leaned on her Baptist faith holding weekly Bible study and volunteering in her church for many years. Her storytelling chalk drawings were always a focal point for her teachings.
She lived a Christian lifestyle during her marriage to Richard from 1956 to his passing in 2021.
Service will be held at Discovery Village in Melbourne on Saturday, October 11th at 2:00pm. Donations in her name may be made to CITA.
