-----------------------------------------------------

Kenrick Osaze Solomon started his life's journey on June 3, 1974, on the beautiful island of Dominica, Nature Island. He was the son of Joseph "Atto" Solomon and Brenda V . Solomon. He attended Bloomfield High School, Bloomfield, New Jersey. Upon graduating from high school, Kenrick followed his father's path and enlisted in the United States Army. He was known to his Army buddies as "Solo". Kenrick's time in the Army took him all over the world. He toured countries such as Germany, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Korea, just to name a few. While stationed in Germany, Kenrick met Diana Majoro. The two would later travel to the United States and marry, and from that union came their beautiful daughter, Suri. After serving his country for over 20 years, Kenrick retired from the United States Army and settled in Charlotte, North Carolina, to be close to Suri, his only child.

Kenrick was very reserved and is remembered by many as always being respectful and a gentleman. We will cherish his memories, and he will be forever missed. At an early age, Kenrick developed a love of books and was an avid reader. He was passionate about sports cars and took pride in every vehicle he owned. Kenrick also enjoyed traveling. His most recent trip took him to Africa.

Kenrick left us too soon! Monday, September 29, 2025, the Lord called Kenrick home. Kenrick was 51 years old.

Kenrick leaves behind many wonderful memories to his beautiful daughter Surisiana Majoro Solomon, her mother Diana Majoro Solomon, his mother Brenda Solomon, and father, Joseph "Atto" Solomon; his only sister, Nadia; niece, Darnella, Grandmother, Cicely; aunts: Janice, Colette, Ann, Helen, Carol, Lily, TeeTee, Deborah, and Sulan; uncles: Fanso, Clive, Gordon, Stanley, Alfred, and Ken; and a countless host of other relatives and friends who will mourn his passing yet celebrate his life.

At Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, nestled in the historic heart of Dilworth, we have provided families in the Charlotte area with customizable memorial services for many years. Our services are crafted to honor your loved ones in ways that are both deeply meaningful and healing. Our rich history began in 1946 when Irvin W. Hankins and James B. Whittington took the reins of the Crouch Funeral Home. The growth of our service and the community's support led to our move in March 1963 to the current location—once St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, built in 1930. Our chapel, a cherished historic landmark within the storied Dilworth neighborhood, is renowned for being the only funeral home in Charlotte graced with its own chapel, echoing with decades of history and serenity....
