Flahiff Funeral Chapels & Crematory-Caldwell
Edwin Dwight Torrey
March 31st, 1938 - September 26th, 2025
Edwin Dwight Torrey passed away on September 26, 2025.
Edwin was born March 31, 1938, to Joy Edwin and Marjorie May (Franklin) Torrey.
He was raised in Caldwell, Idaho along with his three brothers: Jay, Mark and Bob. They all preceded him in death.
Edwin loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing from an early age.
Edwin married Patricia Lee Foster on June 11, 1960. He learned the plumbing trade. They had two children, in 1961 Joye Faye and in 1965 Edwin Michael. Ed took his family camping, fishing and hunting almost every weekend.
In 1974 Ed moved the family to Wilder, Idaho, to his favorite place in the world, the Snake River where his family helped run the campground and farm. He started his own plumbing business.
Ed’s granddaughter, Jennifer was born in 1983. He and Pat helped raise her on the farm and campground. When Ed retired, they sold just the campground and built a house on the river where he had a large garden, orchard and pasture with cows.
Ed and Pat traveled to the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska several summers for salmon and halibut fishing.
Ed’s first great grandson, Bradlee was born in 2002 followed by his second, Rylee in 2006. Ed and Pat helped raise them also.
Bradlee was Ed’s special fishing and hunting buddy. Bradlee moved into Ed and Pat’s house after high school to help out with the property.
Ed had many hobbies like breeding hunting dogs, rockhounding and silversmithing. He loved to hunt and fish with his son, Eddie and good friends. He was an excellent marksman and has over fifty trophies and ribbons for pistol, rifle and shotgun competitions, including state and national, from 1957 to 1997. He even went to Camp Perry Ohio to compete. Ed was president of the Caldwell Gun Club for many years. He loved to teach his son, Eddie, Granddaughter and great grandson and many other friends to fish and hunt.
Edwin is survived by his daughter, Joye Torrey, son Edwin (Judy) Torrey, granddaughter Jennifer (Daron Porter) DelaRosa, great-grandsons, Bradlee (Kaia) DelaRosa, Rylee Porter, and his son to be great great-grandson Hudsen Lee DelaRosa.
In lieu and flowers, the family suggests donation to the Wilder Fire Department.
