Philip Paul Schultz, of Fort Atkinson, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
Phil shared 34 years of companionship with his wife, Fran, whom he cared for with great love and devotion.
Phil was a proud retiree of the United States Postal Service, where he served his community with dedication and kindness throughout his career. Known for his dependable nature and friendly spirit, he left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Phil rarely missed a game—especially when it came to cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Whether celebrating a victory or lamenting a tough loss, his passion for Wisconsin sports was unmatched.
Phil had a deep love for animals and was especially devoted to his many doves and 2 cats who brought him endless joy and companionship. His gentle heart and caring nature extended to all creatures, great and small.
A man of strong faith, Phil was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, attending services faithfully every week. His unwavering belief and quiet strength were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Above all, Phil cherished his family. His daughter, son and four grandchildren were truly the loves of his life, and he took great pride in every moment spent with them.
Phil will be remembered for his kindness and steadfast devotion to the people and passions he loved most. He leaves behind a legacy of generosity, integrity, and faith that will continue to touch the lives of many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence “Bud” and Alice (Hoge) Schultz.
Phil is survived by his wife, Fran Schultz; his children, Lori (Olivier) Paiement and Andrew Schultz; his grandchildren, Madalyn (Josh Rivera) Roberts, Rowan Roberts, Elijah Schultz, and Evan Schultz; his sister, Paula Smith; and his nephew, Ryan Smith.
Because of Phil’s lifelong love of animals, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Jefferson County in his honor.

We Entrusted Philip Schultz's Care To
Nitardy Funeral Homes - Fort Atkinson
We have proudly served the Southern Wisconsin community for over 90 years, when Hilmar A. Nitardy opened his first funeral home in the area. In 1984, his son Russ knew it was time to offer professional, compassionate services to the Fort Atkinson community, and we constructed a new funeral home to address its needs. We feel so fortunate to be a part of the community, and have grown our family alongside the community for three generations....
