Beers and Story - Palmer
Lois J Dupre
September 10th, 1932 - October 8th, 2025
Holland – Lois J. (Lorenz) Dupre, 93, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 8, 2025. Born on September 10, 1932, in Holyoke, she was the daughter of Alfred and Emilie E. (Rehbein) Lorenz.
Lois grew up in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School. She married Robert Dupre on August 8th, 1950, and they first lived in Chicopee, then Springfield, and Enfield, CT, before settling in Holland in 1967, referred to as God's country by Robert.
Most of Lois’s life was spent caring for others. As a home health aide, she provided compassionate care to countless individuals and their families throughout the years. Her family affectionately thought of her as the “patron saint” of children and animals.
Lois was active in the Holland and Brimfield Senior Centers and, in her later years, served as a companion at the Holland Senior Center. She loved watching marching bands, attending the theater in New York, and traveling anywhere she had a ticket to go, especially the trip of a lifetime to Australia in March of 1988. Camping by the ocean at Hammonasset State Park was one of her greatest joys in life as she enjoyed the beach and company of many family members and friends and “Martini Time” with her sister in-law Shirley.
Lois was predeceased by her husband, Robert D. Dupre, in 1995 as well as her son, Mark, in 2005, and her son, Kirk, in 2023. She will be dearly missed by her children, Joel Dupre and his partner, Peg Lazarchick, of Brimfield, and Corinne Dupre and her husband, Brian Perry, with whom she lived.
She also leaves behind eleven beloved grandchildren: Rebekah Dupre-Bradway, Nicole Vilandre, Lisa Labonte, Kyle Dupre, Tyler Dupre, Jesse Lapierre, Emilie Armenti, Nicolas Vallez, Brian Perry Jr., Brianna Perry, and Sean Perry; as well as sixteen great-grandchildren. Her two brothers Alfred and Ralph and one sister Ruth also predeceased her.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cline Hall, 345 Main St., Sturbridge, MA, with a service to follow at 11:15 a.m. in the church. Burial will be private for the family at a later date.
Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Bethlehem Lutheran Church 345 Main Street Sturbridge, MA 01566 or there is a link to donate via PayPal on the church website https://bethlehemsturbridge.org/
