Edna Quillen Davis
February 27th, 1933 - October 9th, 2025
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
Edna Quillen Davis, 92, Johnson City, TN went “to be in the arms of Jesus” on October 9, 2025. She was born on February 27, 1933 in the Daniel Boone Community of Scott County, VA, she later resided in Gate City, VA, Kingsport, TN, and the last 12 years in Johnson City, TN. Edna was a daughter of the late James Hop Quillen and Emily Poston Quillen. She was blessed to be part of a large family of loving brothers and sisters.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by all her loving brothers and sisters and her beloved husband, Harold L. Davis, along with several nieces and nephews.
Edna gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. She participated in several area women’s Bible study groups. In her later years, she continued her daily studies at home and attended Highland Baptist Church for as long as health conditions allowed.
She was a loving sister and aunt who spent countless hours giving a helping hand for her cherished family.
Her life was highlighted by almost 30 years employment with Belk, which included starting as a seamstress, progressing to a Corporate Buyer and retiring as Divisional Manager.
Edna enjoyed her opportunities to coordinate several fashion shows, serving as a hostess for the National Storytelling Festival and Tennessee Governor’s Mansion Holiday Tours.
She considered her greatest blessings as being a Christian, dedicated wife and mother, and loving sister and aunt.
Survivors include the “joys of her life”, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Donna Davis, a host of special nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law, Elva Quillen.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 1 pm until 2 pm at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with her nephew, Pat Davis, Jr. officiating. A graveside service will follow at Holston View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
