Robert Thomas "Bobby" Christensen, a charismatic and beloved pillar of his community, passed away on September 30, 2025. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 24, 1975, Bobby had a magnetic personality that drew people toward him. His infectious humor and adventurous spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was not just a man of strong faith, but also a steadfast companion, loyal friend, and devoted father.

Bobby grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho, where he attended Snake River High School. From a young age, his energy and enthusiasm shone brightly—he excelled in track and football and loved playing the drums, passions that reflected his rhythm for both music and life. It was during those high school years that Bobby met his lifelong companion, Edene, beginning a partnership that would grow into a 30-year marriage filled with laughter, faith, and devotion. During his senior year of high school, Bobby experienced a spiritual transformation that would shape the rest of his life. He was converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and joined the Church at age 18, finding in it a deep sense of purpose, faith, and community. That decision became one of the defining moments of his life, guiding his character, service, and devotion in the years to come.

Bobby was a talented iron worker, a profession he proudly held for over 30 years—a trade taught to him by his father, Redgy Christensen. Under his father’s guidance, Bobby developed a strong work ethic and a deep respect for the craft that would shape his future. His entrepreneurial spirit and determination led him to own and operate two successful rebar companies—Christensen Steel and Velocity Steel—both of which he built and ran alongside family members. His leadership and craftsmanship were unmatched, earning him great respect among peers and colleagues in the construction industry. Later in his career, Bobby’s dedication and exemplary skills were further recognized when he became Division Director, a role that reflected not only his technical expertise but also his ability to inspire and guide others.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bobby had a true passion for athletics and mentoring youth. He served as the Head Track and Field Coach at Homedale High School, where his energy and encouragement left a lasting mark on countless student-athletes. Bobby also coached football for Homedale at many different levels over the years, sharing his love for the game and teaching life lessons both on and off the field.

One of Bobby’s greatest joys as a father was coaching his own children. He poured his heart into being their biggest fan and mentor, having coached each of them in one capacity or another throughout their lives. Whether on the track, the field, or in everyday moments, Bobby found purpose and pride in guiding and cheering them on, instilling in them the same drive, faith, and love he lived by. Bobby was also an avid hunter and gun enthusiast, who cherished every opportunity to be outdoors. He enjoyed not only hunting but also reloading his own ammunition, a hobby that reflected his meticulous nature, love of craftsmanship, and passion for his sport. Bobby’s love of music continued well into his adult life. He played drums in various bands and with different musical groups, sharing his rhythm and energy with everyone around him. His most recent project was a band affectionately named Bobby's Novocaine, where he continued to inspire and delight with his musical talent and passion for performing. His deep and abiding faith was the cornerstone of his life. As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bobby served faithfully as Bishop of the Homedale Second Ward, where his compassion, humor, and authenticity touched countless lives. He was known by many as their favorite bishop—someone who made everyone feel seen, valued, and loved. He also served in various other callings as a Counselor and Youth Leader, continuing to bless the lives of many through his kindness and example.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Edene Christensen, and his five children, Jacob (Audrey) Christensen, Ember (Ben) Lee, Keagen (Sage) Christensen, Bobby Christensen, and Quade Christensen; his mother Deborah Christensen; his brother, James Christensen; and his sisters, Jodi Amber, Robin Franco, and Paula Gordon; as well as his cherished extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Redgy. Bobby’s legacy of love, faith, and service will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew him. His laughter, stories, music, and endearing charisma will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A viewing for friends and family will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapels, 624 Cleveland Blvd, Caldwell, ID 83605, October 17, 2025, from 5–7 p.m. and the following morning at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 325 N Pennsylvania Ave, Fruitland, ID 83619, October 18, 2025, at 9 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at 10 a.m. Following the funeral, the family warmly invites all who attend to stay for lunch at the Fruitland LDS Church, where everyone will have the opportunity to mingle and share stories with Bobby’s children about his life and what he meant to so many.
