It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Culver, beloved brother, friend, and community member, who passed away at the age of 72 on September 25, 2025.
Brian was born on June 19, 1953, in Tacoma, WA, to his late mother Jean Ensrud. He is survived by his siblings, Chris Kelly, Evonne Hale and Dan Windisch and many nieces and nephews.
Brian's life was defined by his intelligence, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his faith and community. A proud graduate of the University of Washington, he dedicated many years working at the University of Washington, where he was known for his sharp mind and attention to detail. Brian served as an Interpreter in the United States Airforce from 1972 to 1978, a time that shaped his character and instilled in him a lifelong commitment to service and duty.
Brian had a deep love for his church, University Congregational United Church of Christ in Seattle and was a steadfast member for many years. There his faith and generosity touched the lives of many. His warm and caring nature made him a cherished member of his community, and he will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. When he moved to Puyallup Brian became a member of Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church in Puyallup, WA.
In his personal life, Brian was a kind, intelligent, and compassionate man. He had a deep belief in helping others, and his generosity extended beyond his family to many. Those who knew him often remarked on his insightful perspectives, and his genuine care for the people around him.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Brian’s life at Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church in Puyallup, WA, on October 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church or a charity of choice in his honor.
Brian's passing leaves a hole in the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory and the impact he made on those around him will live on.
