Barbara Ann McAlister

Mrs. Barbara Ann McAlister, age 82, a resident of Polk City, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Winter Haven Hospital with her husband and stepson at her side. Barbara was born May 4, 1943, in Manila, Arkansas to Herman Centennial and Mandy Irene (Jackson) Otte. She was the youngest of 9 children. She was a Polk County resident for 25 years coming from Indianapolis, Indiana. Barbara was a retired Office Manager for an Optometrist Office.  She accepted Jesus as her personal Savior at the age of nine. She was a member of Westwood Missionary Baptist Church in Winter Haven. Barbara enjoyed singing gospel music as a soloist, working in her yard and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Barbara is survived by her loving family, husband of 25 years – Raymond McAlister of Polk City, Florida; son – Alan Bolinger of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter – Marcia (John) Lienemann of Cicero, Indiana; stepson – Allen McAlister of St. Petersburg, Florida; 4 grandchildren – Bradley, Emerald, Andy, and Gracie. 2 great grandchildren – Callay & Rory. Funeral services will be held 2pm Friday, October 17th at Westwood Missionary Baptist Church, 3210 Avenue G Northwest, Winter Haven with visitation beginning  1pm at the church. The service will be live streamed on the church website at westwoodmbc.org Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
