Larry D. (Pidge) Rottman, age 90 of The Villages, Florida and formally of Millersburg, Ohio passed away on October 11th after a long period of declining health.
Larry was born in Benton, Ohio on May 14, 1935, to Dare and Alice Rottman (Koenig) and graduated from Berlin High School. He is survived by his wife Julianne Rottman (Uhl) who he married nearly 65 years ago.
Larry began his career in construction until a winter hiatus offered him the opportunity to work as a teller at the Adams bank. From there he became a loan officer and bank president of the Commercial and Savings Bank. He retired from The Killbuck Savings bank. Shortly after retirement he and Julie moved to The Villages, Florida.
He was a Veteran, serving in the United States Army, was member of the American Legion, and served in many positions as a member of The United Methodist Church in Millersburg. In addition, he served on the board of The Castle Nursing home for several years. He was an avid golfer and spent many years on the golf course forming lifelong friendships.
Larry will be remembered as a true gentleman with a quick wit and a fun sense of humor. He was able to maintain those qualities throughout his life and had a positive impact on those he encountered daily until his final days.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Amy (Tim) Fath, Lee Ann Rottman and his grandchildren Jordan (Brandon) Smith, Shelby Fath, Caleb (Joshua) Fath and Jena Fath who will do their best of honoring his legacy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Arlo Rottman.
There will be no service, and the family suggests that memorials be made through encouraging words and random acts of kindness. We have been blessed beyond measure.
