Angelina Tonya Sanchez Gunnings was born on October 18, 1977, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Guadalupe “Lupe” Sanchez and Palma Stewart. From an early age, Angelina was known for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and deep love for her family.

A proud graduate of Trevor Browne High School class of 1996, Angelina went on to serve her country with honors in the United States Army. It was during her service in Korea that she met the love of her life, William Charles Gunnings Jr.  whom she married on January 28, 2000 and celebrated 25 years of marriage.  Their bond was one built on faith, laughter, and mutual respect — a love that would blossom into a beautiful family.

Angelina was known for her shy and humble nature; she never sought the spotlight, yet her presence was deeply felt by all who knew her. She was family-oriented to her core, always finding joy in caring for her children and creating a warm, welcoming home. Angelina gave her life to Christ and was baptized by Dr. Mack McCollough in 2008. She loved to listen to her favorite worship music around the house whenever she cooked or cleaned.

Her interests reflected her creativity and zest for life. She was a passionate runner, completing several marathons and 5Ks with determination and grace. She loved music and singing, often filling her home with melodies that lifted spirits. The beach, flowers, and antique cars brought her peace and happiness, and her beloved Boston Terriers were constant companions. Angelina was also known for her frugality and ingenuity—she had a gift for turning simple things into something beautiful and meaningful.

Angelina was preceded in death by her father, Guadalupe “Lupe” Sanchez. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children William Charles Gunnings III, Caleb Jonathan Gunnings, and Ashlynn Danielle Gunnings;  William Charles Gunnings Jr,  her mother Palma Stewart; her sisters Teresa McWhorter and Christina Sharman; her brother Nicholas Venditti; and a host of extended family members and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

A visitation will be held at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Sunday 19, 2025 between 11:00 AM until 1:45 PM. A celebration of her life will be held at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, located at 701 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, GA 31093, on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 2:00 PM.  The eulogy will be delivered by Dr. Mack McCullough, Senior Pastor of Word In Season Ministries, honoring Angelina’s spirit and the impact she had on the world.

Angelina’s life reflected quiet strength, love, and endurance. Though she never sought to be the center of attention, her kindness and faith left a lasting impression on all who were blessed to know her.
