Don finished his journey surrounded by family on August 22, 2025. He was born in Eugene, OR, on January 29, 1944 where he lived his entire life. He graduated from North Eugene High School and attended the UO for two years. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years having 3 tours to the Mediterranean Sea. He spent his career as a carpenter and superintendent for several local construction companies. He enjoyed playing bridge (achieving life master), cribbage, golf, and traveling. He was also an avid Oregon Duck fan. He is survived by his wife Judy of 54 years, daughter Jenifer, son Matthew, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two brothers (Bruce and Randy), and one sister (Sandi).

A memorial is planned for October 18, 2025 at the New Hope West, 2155 Bailey Hill Rd, Eugene at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Doernbecher Children's Hospital, Portland, OR.
