David A. Livingston

David Allen Livingston entered into rest on October 8, 2025, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.  He was 81.  David was born on September 24, 1944, in Denver, Colorado to Herbert and Betty Livingston.  He graduated from La Mirada High School in La Mirada, California in 1963 and went on to attend the University of Colorado in Boulder.

David was the founder and president of Backgrounds International, Inc. (formerly Colorado Backgrounds & Investigations) in Lakewood, Colorado.  After his retirement he became the owner and operator of Paulallen Antiques Collective in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.  In his early working years, David was Ambulance Driver in the Denver metropolitan area and taught Denver’s first EMT course.  During the 1970s, he was an Investigator and Medical Examiner for the Denver Coroner’s Office.

David had a deep love for his family and friends with whom he enjoyed many memorable times.  He also enjoyed traveling and had lived in many areas of the country during his younger years.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Karon.  He is survived by his partner in life of 33 years, Scott Nakai, stepson Garrett Nakai, sister Sharon Trefny (John), and brother Herbert Livingston (Cindy).

A memorial ceremony will be held at Aspen Mortuary, 6370 Union Street in Arvada on October 23rd at 1:00 pm.
