Evelyn Hamilton entered into the presence of her Savior October 1, 2025. She was at home and surrounded by loved ones.
Evelyn was born in January 1936 to M. Willard and Ola Hooley in Harper, Kansas. She was the second of four children. Her father, who was a farmer, relocated his family to Indian Cove, (Hammett) Idaho where she spent the majority of her childhood.
Evelyn was someone who was always busy. She would have a list of things that she wanted to work on, fix, or beautify. She was someone that improved everything that she touched. She also loved people and cultivated an atmosphere of hospitality where everyone was welcome and the coffee pot always brewing. Everyone was a potential friend. While these attributes were important, her first and greatest love was Jesus Christ, her Savior and Friend. Shortly before she passed, she wanted to reaffirm her faith and was baptized by her pastor. Her declaration was, “Jesus paid it all. All to Him I owe!” She was deeply moved by the “Marvelous, Infinite, Matchless Grace” of Jesus for her.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, David Hamilton. She is survived by her 3 children; Linda (Jett), Ron (Sari), Matthew (Heather). She has 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Journeys Hospice for their skillful and compassionate care. We also want to thank Delmar Smith PA and staff of Doctor’s Clinic of Elmore County. Thank you to all the people that supported Evelyn in so many ways.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor November 22, 10:00 a.m. at All In Church, 390 N 11 E St., Mountain Home, Idaho. Lunch will follow.

We Entrusted Evelyn Hamilton's Care To
Rost Funeral Home
As the only funeral home in Elmore County, the staff at Rost Funeral Home work hard to be active members of the Mountain Home community and to be there to take care of families in every way possible when the need arises. Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility....
