Shane Nicholas Oster
February 17th, 1989 - October 7th, 2025
Shane Nicholas Fredricks Oster, 36, of Manitou Springs, CO, passed away on October 7, 2025. Born on February 17, 1989, in Spearfish, South Dakota, Shane brought a vibrant spirit to all who knew him.
Shane attended Mesa Ridge High School in Widefield, CO from 2003 to 2005. He had a passion to learn how things worked and he loved to share his knowledge with those willing to learn. He loved all animals, especially cats and anything exotic. He leaves behind two beloved cats, Toru and Hotaru. He was employed in the restaurant industry for many years and took great pride in his work. Shane loved living in Manitou Springs and fit in well with the town’s personality. You could catch him wearing a flower in his hair when walking around town. He was well loved by those who knew him. His warmth, humor, and generous heart will be missed more than words can express. He touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.
He is survived by his adoptive father, William Oster III (Katey), his brothers, Cody Oster and Tyler Oster (Sabrina), his nieces, Thea and Evelyn, and his nephew, Walker all from Colorado Springs, CO. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Georgia Ford (Delbert), South Fork, CO, his uncle, Ron Walton (LuAnn), Farmington, NM, and his aunts, Cynthia Klaiber (Marty), Jackie Murray (Daren), and Juanita Frizzell (Richard), along with numerous cousins from Colorado Springs who cherished him dearly.
Shane was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Kay Rue Netter and his paternal grandmother, Effie Oster.
A small Celebration of Life gathering was held at Persephone Grae’s Cafe in Manitou Springs. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please make a donation in Shane’s honor to a local animal rescue. Wear a flower in your hair when you think of him!
