Michelle Talley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michelle Talley, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who left this world on October 8th, 2025, at the age of 66, from aortic stenosis. Born on October 19th, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, Michelle exemplified a life filled with love, determination, and an indomitable spirit.

Michelle was the cherished daughter of Will and Lillian Talley. She was preceded in death by her father: Will Talley (December 31st, 1975), her mother: Lillian Talley (February 18th, 1987), and several siblings: Rita Ann Shepherd (November 28th, 1988), Perry L. Shepherd (April 6th, 1999), Larry Shepherd (January 9th, 2003), Lavern Shepherd (January 23rd, 2009), Angenett Grice (March 10th, 2018), and Joyce Talley (December 24th, 2023).

Michelle is survived by her brother: Ernest Shepherd; her sisters: Shelia Shepherd, Marsha Talley, and Lesia Talley; and her brothers: Rick Shepherd and Jack Shepherd. She was a proud mother to her two daughters, Angelina Vasher and Laura Bell, who meant the world to her.

Throughout her life, Michelle dedicated herself to the service of others, working as a caregiver in various capacities. She managed an adult foster care home and began her journey of compassion as a candy striper in her teenage years. Her commitment to helping those in need extended beyond her career as she volunteered extensively in her community, particularly with children. She also served as a Doula in Traverse City, Michigan, providing comfort and support to families in need.

Michelle was not just a caregiver, she was a beacon of positivity. Known for her radiant smile, she possessed an extraordinary ability to find joy even in the toughest of times. Always impeccably dressed, she believed that looking good was intertwined with feeling good. A woman of determination, Michelle pursued her goals with passion and resilience. She taught her daughters invaluable lessons in strength, independence, courage, confidence, and self-worth.

In her downtime, Michelle found solace and joy in nature. She had a deep affinity for gardening and flowers, often sharing her mornings with a cup of coffee amidst her beloved blooms. Her dog, Toby, was her loyal companion on morning walks to the dog park, where they enjoyed the beauty of the day together.

An avid fan of action movies, Michelle enjoyed spending her evenings either at the cinema or curled up at home with a thrilling film. Her taste in music was as vibrant as her personality, with favorites including: B.B. King, Patti Labelle, Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and Ray Charles.

Michelle's family was her foundation, and she nurtured those relationships with unwavering dedication, checking in with her siblings multiple times a week to offer a listening ear and a warm heart. In every sense, she was the rock of her family, providing support and love that will forever be cherished.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona, whose incredible care and compassion made a challenging time a little brighter. Their dedication to Michelle and her family is deeply appreciated.

Michelle Talley leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering positivity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her spirit shine on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her extraordinary life.
