George Walter Belmore, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at Fountain View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, one month after his admission.
George was born in Rhode Island to Arthur Belmore and Germaine (Chabot) Belmore. A proud and dedicated patriot, George honorably served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, bravely fighting in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Following his distinguished military career, he continued his commitment to public service by working for El Paso County for 10 years before retiring.
On March 17, 1961, in Wiesbaden, Germany, George married Hannelore Hermann. Together they built a loving family, raising two children: Yvonne Olson-Sage and Arthur Belmore (Elvira).
George’s legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren—George Belmore, Sarah Belmore, Anthony Belmore, Katie (Dylan) Matte, and Tyler (Hannah) Olson—as well as his three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. He is also survived by his brothers Richard Belmore and Ronald Belmore.
A graveside service will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM, where he will be laid to rest with full Retired Air Force Honors.
George will be remembered for his courage, devotion to his country, and love for his family. His service and life’s work stand as a lasting testament to duty, strength, and love.
