It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Erik Scot Norton, who departed this life on October 11, 2025, in Byron, Georgia. Born on September 17, 1966, in Dallas, Texas, Erik was the cherished son of Marcia Downs and Gerald Norton, both of whom preceded him in death.
Erik was a devoted husband and proud family man. He is survived by his loving spouse of 19 years, Shirolyn Stancil, who brought joy and companionship to his life. Together, they built a home filled with love and warmth. Erik was a dedicated father to his children: Natashia (Jesse) Leffler, Eli Norton, Savannah Norton, and Johnathan Gallops. He was also a proud stepfather to Holly (C.J) Whitehead. His legacy lives on through his nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Throughout his life, Erik exemplified the qualities of a hard worker and a proud provider for his family. He dedicated ten years of his career to Blue Bird South, where he was recognized for his commitment and diligence. Erik is also survived by his sister, Cerrina Norton of Ohio, and his brother, Jerry Norton, also of Ohio—his family who shared in his joys and supported him through life’s challenges.
A ceremony to commemorate Erik’s life will be held at a later date, providing family and friends an opportunity to gather, share their fond memories, and celebrate a life well-lived.
In this time of loss, we extend heartfelt condolences to all who were touched by Erik's kind heart and unwavering spirit. His memory will live on in those who loved him dearly.
