Barry Smith

Barry Smith, 83, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2025. He was born in Gadsden, Alabama, to the late Charles and Lois Smith. Barry served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company as a Systems Analyst after 31 years of service. Barry was a devoted member of Celebration Church where he served as an Elder and Bible Study Leader. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Smith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Linda Smith; sons, Ken and Kevin Smith; three grandchildren, Kirstie, Caitlin, and Jake Smith; sister, Sally Shamblin; niece, Sharon Pitts; along with a host of friends and extended family.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Celebration Church in Blountville with Pastor Robert Russell officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the church by 5:20 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their loving care.
